Clifford J. Ross joined the firm as an “of counsel” attorney in January, 2007. Cliff will continue to focus his practice in the areas of personal injury and probate law, bringing to the firm over 52 years of successful lawyering. He graduated from Boston Latin School, received his Bachelor of Science from Boston College and his Bachelor of Law from Boston College Law School.
He is a former vice-president and general manager of the George H. Griffin Insurance Agency. He has served as a Manchester finance commissioner, as Manchester City Solicitor, and as a member and secretary of the Commission to Codify the New Hampshire Criminal Laws by appointment from former Governor John W. King, who also nominated him to serve as New Hampshire Deputy Attorney General.
He volunteered for service in the United States Navy and the United
States Coast Guard during World War II and in the United
States Army during the Korean Conflict, being a life member
of the DAV (Disabled Veterans of America). He has served
as President of the Manchester Jaycees, Director of the
Manchester Chamber of Commerce, Director of the Manchester
Kiwanis Club, President of the Manchester Family Service
Society, Director of the Manchester Salvation Army Advisory
Board, Trustee of the Manchester Institute, Chairman of
the Manchester Democratic City Committee, Chairman of the
New Hampshire Democratic Business and Professional Association,
and Secretary of the New Hampshire Democratic Committee.
He was twice elected as a delegate to the Democratic National
Convention. He has served as counsel (without remuneration)
to the New Hampshire Basketball Referee Association, the
Manchester Regional Youth Hockey Association, and the Intervale
Country Club. He was chosen for the Manchester Bar Association’s
1996 Lawyer of the Year award.
He has been married for 55 years to the former Johanna C. Murphy and is the father of four children and five grandchildren.
He is admitted to practice before the Courts of the State of New Hampshire, as well as the United States Court of Appeals for the First Circuit and the Federal District Court for the District of New Hampshire.
