Injury Law

“Injury law” is a branch of law practice that involves helping the victims of auto collisions, work-related injuries, injuries caused by defects in buildings and sidewalks, and by the negligence of health care providers and others. The idea is that if you are injured because someone else is negligent or careless, you shouldn’t have to suffer the losses yourself; they should be paid by the person causing the injury, or his/her insurance company. This is true even if you yourself were partially at fault. Getting for you the “full, fair, and adequate” compensation the law is supposed to provide can involve a lot of hard work, and a good knowledge of how the law works.

If you’re in a situation where you believe someone else is responsible for your injuries and financial losses, you can obtain free and independent advice as to your rights from your lawyer. Make sure you do. It may save you a lot of trouble and money.

Special alert on Rezulin.

Recently, the FDA requested that the manufacturer of the drug, Rezulin, be withdrawn from the market due to concerns regarding the drug's safety. The drug was used in the treatment of adult onset diabetes and was voluntarily withdrawn by the manufacturer. Serious medical problems have developed in people who used the drug, including liver damage. Some patients have died as a result of using Rezulin.

Even before the recall, there were reports that the FDA has found that the manufacturer withheld or downplayed reports of liver damage in users. Individuals taking Rezulin who have suffered harm may be entitled to compensation from the manufacturer under a product liability claim and should seek prompt legal advice from a competent attorney.
